Waste Solution
Eta has developed a deep knowledge in the waste sector in Italy and for years has been gathering the needs of municipalities and public/private waste collection companies in order to offer innovative, economical, and customized traceability solutions.
Recently in Italy, the Ministry of the Environment issued decree law no. 17A03338 of 20.04.2017, aimed at reducing the amount of waste produced by citizens, thus requiring all municipalities to provide a separate waste collection service that allows for a substantial reduction in waste and to be able to apply fair taxation to end users, based on the actual amount of waste delivered.
The purpose of the decree is to provide municipalities with a set of uniform criteria for the precise measurement of waste produced by single or aggregated users, allowing administrations to quantify them in terms of weight or even volume, but also to establish management systems characterized by the use of adjustments to the cost allocation criteria of the service according to the service provided.
The criteria are aimed at implementing an effective tariff model commensurate with the service provided, to fully cover the costs related to the management of urban and similar waste, carried out in the forms permitted by European Union law.
The fundamental requirement is obviously the adoption of technological systems, from barcode to RFID transponder, which allow the container and/or bag to be associated with single or multiple users, recording and measuring the direct or indirect quantities delivered.
Thanks to partnerships with specialized companies, ETA is able to offer complete projects, equipment, and "turnkey" solutions also in the waste sector, particularly for separate collection with punctual pricing, based on the principle: "those who pollute less pay less", through traceability with the most advanced control and monitoring systems.
Why use RFID technology to identify waste?
The answer is simple: waste traceability with RFID tags is the only one that works well.
Thanks to RFID technology, garbage becomes smart. An increasing number of Italian cities manage waste through radio frequency identification (RFID), obtaining an important benefit for the environment and a direct advantage for the wallets of their citizens.
In fact, in addition to greatly speeding up collection operations compared to other systems, the RFID tags associated with each bag/container make it possible to rationalize services, rewarding virtuous users with lower taxes, and penalizing those who are not.
